These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
